Chico and Japanese Reef

Chico and Japanese Reef are two dive sites on the north side of Tintamarre in St. Martin (or, more accurately, slightly offshore). The surface waves may require a quick “commando style” entry after gearing up near the beach on the other side of Tintamarre, but below the surface, the surge is actually calmer and visibility better than on the other side of the island at most times. The two sites are accessed from the same point and extend in opposite directions. Healthy reefs and an abundance of life are key attractions here. We have also seen turtles, rays and nurse sharks while diving these sites, making them great for seeing larger animals.
