Arm Walking

Arm Walking is a technique useful in arm’s-length waters. Simply use your arms to “walk” on the bottom while leaving your body horizontal at the surface. This technique is very useful in areas where it is too shallow to need fins. It also offers great precision to the snorkeler, and in most cases the opportunity to fix your location in surf or current.

Safety Tip: Watch where you put your hands! Avoid sharp objects, fire corals and urchins. Also, be prepared to have less control in sandy areas where the bottom may be shifting.
