Great Southern White (Ascia monuste)

The great southern white is one of the commonest butterflies on the island, commonly frequenting fields and low shrublands. I have witnessed it laying eggs on undergrowth near one of the large ponds on the island. The Florida white (Appias drusilla) may also be present on the island, although my photographs thus far seem to exclusively be the great southern white.
