Giant Isopod
The Giant Isopod (Bathygnomus giganteus) is related to the pillbugs that you may find in your backyard, but much larger. These deep sea scavengers are still almost identical to their prehistoric ancestors. In the photo below, several Giant Isopods are eating pig entrails from a bait crate at 1400 feet below sea level.
