Willet (Catoptrophorus semipalmatus)

The willet frequents wetlands, but is supposedly uncommon in most of the Lesser Antilles. It is relatively nondescript, but can be identified by its thick bill. Similar species have thinner, shorter or markedly curved bills. These were seen in the salt pond near the Grand Case airport. In the photo below, the smaller bird in the foreground is a different species.
